Wayne J. Bohl, 57, Oconto, died Tuesday morning, October 28, 2008 at Bellin Hospital in Green Bay. He was born December 2, 1950 in Oconto Falls to John and Mae (Lambert) Bohl. Wayne grew up in Oconto Falls where he attended St. Anthony Catholic Grade School and graduated high school, with the class of 1970. Following graduation from high school he enlisted in the US Army before going to work at the Midland Co-op in Oconto Falls and Coleman. On May 15, 1976 he married Mary Shepeck at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Oconto. Following their marriage the couple lived in Oconto where Wayne was employed at Liquid Carbonic for many years. Following the sudden deaths of Wayne´s sister and brother-in-law, Rosemary and Sylvester "Spike" Zoeller, he and Mary came forward to care for and help raise the Zoeller´s five children, ages 6 to 13 years old at the time. In 1984, Wayne began working for the Oconto County Sheriffs Department until retiring in 2004. As a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, he taught catechism class for years. He was also a 6th to 8th grade girl´s softball coach in Oconto for five years. Wayne will be fondly remembered for his uncanny recall of dates and events as well as his good sense of humor. Survivors include his ex-wife, Mary Bohl, Green Bay; his six children, John Bohl, Green Bay; Carrie Zoeller, Oconto Falls; Kevin (Kim) Zoeller, GA; Wendy Zoeller, Oconto Falls; Beth Zoeller, MS; Brian (Karla) Zoeller, New Berlin; five grandchildren, one great grandson; one brother, Allen Bohl, Milwaukee; three sisters, Dottie (Gene) Peters, Oconto Falls; Carol Altstadt, Milwaukee; Donna (Dennis) Dhuey, New Frankin; two brothers-in-law, Roland La Violette, Sturgeon Bay; Carl Mueller, Milwaukee; many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, three infant siblings, three sisters Rosemary (Sylvester "Spike") Zoeller, Barbara La Violette, and Shirley Mueller, brother-in-law, Dennis Johnson, his in-laws Hubert and Catherine Shepeck, sister-in-law Charlotte Shepeck and daughter-in-law and grandson Brigette and Dakota Zoeller. Friends may call at Jones Funeral Service in Oconto Falls (920-848-2222 or visit: from 4:00 until 8:00 pm Friday, October 31, 2008, rosary service 7:00 pm Friday. Visitation will continue at St. Anthony Catholic Church in Oconto Falls after 10:00 am Saturday, November 1, 2008 until the time of service. Mass of Christian Burial will be held 11:00 am Saturday at the church with the Rev. Fr. Patrick Beno officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
