John A. Wilson, Gillett, went to be with the Lord on Friday, December 1, 2017 at the age of 89.  He was born to Harold and Irene (Van Ess) Wilson on August 28, 1928 in the Town of Angelica.  At the age of 4 years old, he moved with his family to the Long Lake area before settling in Gillett in 1944.  As a young man, John served in the US Army and was stationed in Korea during the Korean War from 1950-1952.

On December 10, 1955 he married Ellen Anderson and the couple farmed in the Town of Maple Valley for many years.  John also worked at the Suring Coop for 15 years before moving into the City of Gillett.  He was a member of Riverview Alliance Church in Oconto Falls.

Survivors are his two children, Randy (Jan) Wilson, Appleton; one daughter, Renee (Keith) Bentley, Midland, MI; five grandchildren, Mike Wilson, Brillion; Jody Wiltsey, Appleton; Jacob (Nicole) Bentley, Adrian, MI; Cassandra (Shane) Schacher, Midland, MI; Caitlyn (Justin) Laplow, Sanford MI; seven great grandchildren, Bryn, Mataya, Carson and Hadley, Corbin and Emma, Eddie; one sister, Betty (Wesley) Sosinski, Oconto; many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Ellen in 2010, two brothers, Alvie (Jean) and Lloyd (Holly) Wilson, two sisters Ione (Clarence) Peters and an infant sister and one brother-in-law Hugo Delzer.

Visitation will be held after 2pm Tuesday, December 5, 2017 at Riverview Alliance Church until the time of service.  Funeral services will be held 5pm Tuesday at the church with Pastor Kevin Kuhn officiating.  Burial will take place in Wanderers Rest Cemetery, Gillett.

Visitation: Tuesday Dec 5, 2017, after 2pm Tuesday until time of service at Riverview Alliance Church
