Dorothy J. Tisch - Departed on Oct 29, 2017 - Oconto Falls, WI

Dorothy J. Tisch

Born in Oconto Falls, WI on Oct 21, 1921

Died on Oct 29, 2017 and resided in Oconto Falls, WI

Our beloved mother, Dorothy Jane (Konitzer) Tisch, 96, Oconto Falls, died on October 29, 2017.  She is now in heaven with Dad, Roger, Wayne, Jodi and her many other loved ones who have gone before her.

Dorothy was the 12th of 16 children born to Andrew and Jane (Berton) Konitzer on Oct. 21, 1921 in Oconto Falls where she lived her entire life.  She married Norman “Nunsky” Tisch on January 27, 1940.  They were the proud parents of Donna (Huey) House, Robert (Ruth), Janet Robaidek, Linda (Dave) Rabas, Carolyn (Tom) Schuster, Gerald (Vicki) and Diane (Rick) Roundy; 22 grandchildren:  Mark House (Jessica Horner), Jeff (Susan) House, Holly (Shawn) Steinbarth, Tammie (Kelly) Schroeder, Brian (Robyn) Tisch, Jenny (Chris) Martineau, Todd (Suzanne) Tisch, Cheryl (Kevin) McDonough, Carman (Rob) Nickell, Brenda (Dan) Wirtz, Dawn (Rick) Abendroth, Chad (Angela) Rabas, Kristin (Troy Brusky) Rabas, Tara Zielinski (Adam Havlik), Jason Zielinski, Chris (Shannon) Schuster, Steve Schuster, Scott (Alicia) Tisch, Mike (Roxanne) Tisch, Adam, Megan & Jacob Roundy, grandson-in-law, Rick Panzer; 40 great grandchildren; two sisters, Magdaline Tisch and Agnes Bridger-Bast; two brothers, Andrew (Hazel) and Edward (Lillian) Konitzer.

Dorothy was preceded in death by her parents, husband in 2001, son Roger who died in a car accident on August 14, 1979, six brothers, John (Julia), Infant Albert,  Martin (Edna), Joe (Dorothy), George (Irene), Marcel (Marie) and five sisters, Martha (Age 12), Mary (Ed) Gallas, Lucy (Norman) Birr, Eva (Leonard) Birr and Margaret (Wally) Ostrenga, her son-in-law, Wayne Robaidek, her beloved granddaughter, Jodi Rabas Panzer on November 17, 1999, sister-in-law Alice Konitzer, brothers-in-law Walter Tisch, Don Bridger and Vic Bast and grandson-in-law Paul Krysiak.

Dorothy’s life revolved around her husband and their children and the Konitzer/Tisch extended families, most of who resided in or near the Oconto Falls area and lived no more than 200 miles away.  The Tisch kids had a total of 20 aunts and uncles plus their spouses, and 106 first cousins.  Dorothy welcomed all who came into her home and there were many.  When her future sons and daughters-in-law began to appear she found room in her heart for all of them as well.  Dorothy had the unique ability to make each family member feel special and made them believe that we were her favorite.  Dorothy was also “Nunsky’s” sports buddy, listening with him to the Braves and Cubs baseball games on the radio before TV was available and during the football season, Packer Sundays, attending church in the morning and the Packer games in the afternoon.  They never missed a game and were proud to have once been season ticket owners of the Green & Gold.

Our Mom was a quiet, reserved woman who loved God, her husband and her children, in that order.  She was our full-time mother who ran a happy home where Dad was the provider and Mom was the delegated head of the household.  We will miss her forever.

Visitation will take place 4-8pm Thursday, November 2, 2017 at Jones Funeral Service in Oconto Falls, prayer service 7pm Thursday.  Visitation will continue after 9am Friday at St. Anthony Catholic Church until the time of service.  Mass of Christian Burial will be held 10:30am Friday at the church with the Rev.
